The Catholicism of Star Wars

In this episode, I analyze the distinctively Christian and Catholic elements of Star Wars. …There are a lot of them.

I started the show with Star Wars’ emphasis on the primacy, in every field, of the human person, tying that in with Man’s God-given right of dominion. Then, I transition into the series’ examination of the soul via the Force. Next, celibacy and tradition are touched on. Anakin’s miraculous birth, of course, is also mentioned. Finally, I move into the franchise’s very rich (and very true) political and social commentary. (I forgot to mention that, on top of all of this, Dies Irae is also played in the movies.)
